will 4 otos do well with silver dollars and mollies in a 72 gallon tank?

I would say so....yes.

there are two reasons i can think of that may make them incompatible:

1. silver dollars and mollies grow to 3 times the length of adult otos (6" compared to 2"), so their size alone might scare the otos.

2. mollies do better with salt added to their water, something otos can't tolerate.

A - Not a valid reason

B - Don't put salt in the water

Otos are not very shy, mine swim right up to my hand when I'm doing maintenance.

If you're that worried about them being scared give them plenty of hiding spots.

my otos are nocturnal and hide all day, only coming out at night to eat algae.

i'm asking this compatibility question for someone who's willing to adopt the otos, as i'm giving them away.

Silver dollars have been known to eat very small fish so as they grow they might start to see the ottos as snacks.
