Just order my baby Oscar at my lfs should be getting them in a few weeks!!!!!!!

how big is your tank ? because you do know they grow to be a foot long and you need at least a 100 gallon tank for 1 oscar

They can get over a foot long and they grow very quickly. Also if it fits in an Oscars mouth then it's food to them, they will eat anything given the chance. Hope you got a large tank of around 75 gallons+ for a single Oscar and also very good filtration as they are very messy fish.

As long as you can meet their requirements then they are very nice fish to own :) iv owned an albino and a regular tiger Oscar (only one at a time) :)

I had them in a 125 gallon tank running 2 tetratec ex1200 canister filters. Tank members were 1 Oscar at around 8 inches at the time, a Senegal bichir and a jack Dempsey at around 5 inches. I was doing 2 40% water changes each week as well as a gravel/sand vac twice a week to keep water quality up

I had 2 oscars and just as dbanner said, they are great. I had a 125g tank (was going to be upgraded) with 2 oscars, and they produced a whopping 60ppm of nitrates a week!

Hope your in for a great experience though. The oscar will interact with you like no other fish. Simply awesome guys to own.

I agree with Dieses Madchen, my oscar will be all settled then the moment i walk anywhere near the tank he gets so excited and expects to be fed and if i leave the tank lid open it will float there waiting for me to drop something in.

Also with regards to the amount of poo they create, im sure ive seen smaller poo from a jack russell lol.
