would it be possible to keep oscars in a juwel 120 tank?

if so how many?

many thanks chris

Do you mean the Juwel Rekord 120?

If so no, absolutely not. A single adult oscar requires a minimum of a 55 gallon tank as a single fish species tank, the 120 is just a little over 30 gallons.

Nope, if you did, he would stunt, get sick, and then die a painfull death, and he wont be not be able to even turn around nicely,

Yea a minimum of 55 gallons, about 200 litres, the rekord 120 is inly 120 litre,

I answered a question already about this in another thread, for the same tank and size already.

75 gallons is reccomened for a single oscar, with good filtration

hi,
I have found that my oscar hates all other oscars :/ yes he just kills all the buddies i have gotten him only 2 don't worry, that was when he was smaller the only fish that has gone well and still is, is a eal tailed catfish a native from the local creek!!!
has anyone else out there had the same situation as me?
if so pray tell

thanks :good:

some Oscar's are incredibly in-tollerant and will kill anything else. if this is the case then the only solution is to keep him on his own.

some on the other hand will happily have all sorts of tankmates, and won't eat them unless they fit in his mouth and happen to get in the way

I've found that oscars seem to only attack fish they feel threatened of. Oscars must be the king of the tank! Usually if a fish is smaller than it but big enough to not be eaten (and fast enough not to be caught) it should be fine. Your best bet is to raise an Oscar from the time it's small with the fish it will be live with for the rest of its life. Adding fish later in life may lead to aggression issues.

And unless you have a really big tank, more than one oscar is usually bad idea.
