Hi there.

I am fascinated by oscars and wondered if anyone wanted to share their oscar photos with me and any stories??

lokk forward to them all

[I would show you mine but I dont know how to post pics, but I can tell you that mine is an albino oscar, but he has black fins and portions are starting to turn black, anywho, he is about 2 inches long, grew an inch in 3 weeks, crazy, anwyays his name is Bubba, I call him Bubba Gump, but my BF hates when I call him that. And im calling it a him, cuz he reminds me of a him, anywho, he likes to chase and pick on our silverdollar thats triple the size of him, and he eats SO much food, once he gobbled up so many bloodworms at once that it came out of his gills... weirdo, well, thats all the experience yet, I havent had him long. Cheers!
Ps, if you can tell me how to post pics, I will surely post a pic of him and his big eyes!

I am pretty sure that to post pics you need your own website.

To keep an oscar you neeed a very large tank with reasonable tough fish that can hold their ground as oscars can max out a 14", although that is the very tops. My oscar was bought at 1" around 1 month ago he is already 2.5"!!!

my oscar looks identical to yours
i believe it is called a green head lava oscar or something, my brother was given them from his work as sickly 1" babies, in november, now they are about 5" and one 6". its crazy how fast they grow!!
also green terrors, i got one for 50p because it was 1" and now its about 5" it had a similar growth rate to the oscars! its crazy when fish grow so quik, kinda reminds you of aro's

My oscar?

Mine eats prawns, flakes, carnivore pellets, sinking pellets, lance fish, and I am going to try him on earth worms when I can find somewhere that sells them cheap.

I am glad that you like him. :D I wasn't sure at first when I bought him but he is really active and has a great personality, if fish have personalities that is.

he is really cool.Imsure he does have a personality most oscars do dont they.Does he come up to the front of the tank when he wants food?Thats all the time with oscars though isnt it.what size tank is he in?Has he any tank mates?

He is at the front of the tank almost constantly lol he is so cool. I did have 3 but then my TSN ate 2 and then I got rid of him. I am planning on getting him 1 tank mate in the VERY close future (as in in around 4 days). I keep him in a 100 uk gal tank. My tank stats are on my profile if you want to look.

i had oscars for years, but was wondering what all your thoughts were on keeping them with L number plec?, as i never actually had L numbers back then, as i am thinking on going back down the road of larger fish, cheers
