I was wondering if oscars could be in a 75 gallon tank. If they could, could I have 3 bala sharks and 1 oscar in it? Thanks :D

1 oscar alone for a 75g with maybe another small(ish) fish.

The bala's grow way to big for a 75g and IMO need an 8'x3' tank to shoal and swim like they should.

Plec, maybe a small cichlid, something that stays around the bottom though really.

:D Would one red tailed shark be okay? What type of loaches could I get. and what about rams? and can you suggest any other cichlids? Thanks! :)

In a 75 your best off with one oscar. You could do other small fish. If i were to set up a 75 gal with an oscar id have....

6 australian rainbow fish
1 oscar
1 pleco
1 spotted rapheal

As long as you put alot of filtration onto that, it would probably work. Since the rainbow fish are fast, they probably wont get caught by the oscar. You could do other fish maybe like danios instead of rainbow fish. Australians stay fairly small, you wouldnt want anything bigger. Basically if you have enough filtratioin, and you get small peaceful fish that the oscar wont eat, your ok. What is your filtration anyway? I wouldnt put any other smaller cichlids in the tank with an oscar. I'm not too sure about the red tailed shark either.

EDIT: i actually just thought maybe you could put a convict, or a firemouth with the oscar, and use the school of fish as dithers. Keep in mind to keep all those fish together you'd have to over filter the tank to keep up with the bioload. Also, you should have spare tanks to put fish if they start fighting.

would this be okay?:
1 oscar
1 jack dempsey or fire mouth
3 clown loaches :)

Introduce them both when small, and i wouldnt get the clown loaches. I need to know your filtration, otherwise you might only be able to get one oscar -_- . It may be possible to do all those fish you just listed WITH over filtration, but you may want to add some dither fish to keep the two cichlids from killing eachother. (still they may both be friendly to eachother even without dithers)

What about this:
1 oscar
1 red tailed shark
or would this be a problem?

I am thinking about maybe getting a 120 gallon instead. A local petstore has one and I may get it.
:)

120 would be better, and you could do 2 oscars. I dont know about the red tail black shark, ive never owned them and i dont know how they act.

Might work.. I'd be sure to get a decent sized RTBS to be sure the oscar doesn't eat it..

If you're going to get a 2'' oscar... get a 3'' RTBS

my red tailed shark is 5 inches long so I think they would be okay together. I think she would get bigger in a bigger aquarium but I am not sure. The red tailed shark is in my 29 gallon comunity tank but is aggressive so I wanted to get a bigger aquarium for her. :)

So if i got a 2 inch long oscar and put her with my 5 inch long red tailed shark in a 120 gallon tank could I get any more fish? And what fish could I get?:D

You might be able to get away with another larger cichlid or 2.. a severum MIGHT work.. a firemouth might work.. depends on the fish..

My oscar couldn't handle fish it's same size.. I can only keep smaller less aggressive cichlids with my oscar. The similar sized severums attacked it relentlessly.

Put lots of hiding places for the oscar to hide from the red tailed shark when small, but soon it will catch up to it in growth and the red tail shark will need the hiding places. In a 120 gal, then you wont have to worry too much. They probably would stay away from eachother in a tank that big.
