Wilder should be by soon to help :)
If you shine a torch on Oscar, does he appear shiny? If so it could be columnaris?
Good luck xx

Bless him.

Can you issolate him and use a bacterial med.
Whats your location?

How many filters do you have running.
Seperated tanks can cause bacterial infections sometimes.
Its best to have a filter on either side of the tank.

Do you know exactly what is? Fin rot?

How many filters do you have running.
just the 1 filter with a spray bar that put fresh water in each section.
i did have 2 in that tank, but the other filter is being used for the shrimp tank.

Cloudy, slimey, translucent fins can be bacterial finrot.
I would add a bacterial med to the tank with the other fish being bloated aswell.

Uk. Myxazin by waterlife.
United States. Maracyn.

Thats why he needs a bacterial med to kill the bacteria.
Do you have a med in stock.

No don't raise temp it multiplys bacteria.

Add some salt for now if you only keep betta in that tank.
Get a jug of tank water and add two tablespoon of salt to the water.
Stir till the salt disolves, then add to the tank.
It will help the fins till you get a med.

Table salt fine.
Never used rock salt so couldn't say.

Just read you cant use table salt, as it has clumping agents.

I googled fish and rock salt and it says i should add 1 teaspoon to 1 gallon, this will promote fine healing and will slowly kill off any bacteria :good:
