How many feeders should I feed my oscar?
Absolutely none, zip, zero, zilch, just forget about it. Feeders are not an adequate source of nutrition and have been link with HITH in long term feeding. They are also cesspools of disease, and commonly contaminate fish with Ich, and fungus, as well as leaches, gill flukes and various other bacterial diseases.

Yup. The only way you should feed with feeders is if you raise them yourself (guppy or convict fry for example) and are sure that they are healthy. Have you ever seen the condition that the feeder tanks are in in petstores? There are about 20 dead fish on teh bottom of the tank, and the rest of them don't look too happy. They cram like 50 of them into a 10 gallon tank. Can you blame them for carrying diseases?

That info is spot on, BUT! from what i know IME it only seems to effect them when they hot the 6" mark or so, i started to get HITH, ick and all other types of crap, now i dont go near feeders and both of them are very healthy.

Oh well the store I worked at and the lfs down the street (thats owned by my friend) hold the feeders in a 50 gallon tank. The only prob with the one thats owned by my friend is that shes got a turtle in there. I'm sure that could cause disease.. turtles carry so much! She just doesn't have anywhere else to put them.

I mean... it makes sence, it just suprised me at first because I've always known people buying feeders for the oscars. I just didn't think about it first. (Shoot. I know someone who stuck 5 oscars in a 55! and she wondered why they kept dieing! )
