Im just wondering if i can fit an oscar in my 55 gallon or is it going to be too much. I am planning on buying a 220 gallon in the next year or so. If i do get the oscar..i will most likly give my tetras, rainbow sharks, and bala sharks to my friend.

IS there anyway i could get a smaller one.? would that work? cause i am planning on getting that large tank prob in december..as an xmas present

You could probably get by with a 55 gallon. I would not try anything smaller. If you do get the bigger tank eventually, you should switch the oscar to that tank at that time. For now, a 55 will work though. Be sure to do frequent water changes because Oscars are messy eaters but make up for it with more character than most dogs and cats.
