I had seen threads on the forums where people had mentioned putting a pingpong ball in their tanks as a toy for their oscar... so today, I went to the store in search of pingpong balls. Instead, I found bobbers... you know, the plastic cork thingies you attach to your fishing line? I plopped one in my tank, and my oscar has had HOURS of fun with that thing!!! :hyper:
It has a little button sort of thing on it where you attach the line, and my oscar has been grabbing that and pulling the bobber underwater over and over again. He knows good and well it's not food, as I'm sure he can taste it, so I can only assume that he's just having a bit of fun. I figured he needed some entertainment since he has been play-fighting with my plants (the few that are strong enough to withstand his wrath,) but I never in a million years imagined he'd play with that thing so much!
Edited to add the pic ;). Darned camera flash!

Yeah, I thought about that. The bobber is WAY to big to fit in his mouth... only the little button thing on the top can fit, and it's well attached to the bobber itself, so no worries! :D
He's playing with it as I type this!

How small do they make those? I wonder if my barbs and platties would have fun with something like that.
There were some pretty small ones in the package I bought... possibly platy-sized. If all else fails, I guess you could use a piece of cork?

My midas has lots of little play things, but he loves floaties like this one..

He has a rubber duckie too :p I'll try (someday) to get a pic of him swimming around with one in his mouth :p

Cute pics,Synirr

Makes me wonder if I'm going to end up buying floaty toys for my firemouth... :D I hope so, it looks cool!
