Hey all!

I setup my 90 gallon oscar tank this week.

It houses an oscar, 3 clown loaches and a common pleco.

all the fish are around 2 inches except the pleco.
would it be possible to house another cichlid in there like a severum or is it better to leave it as it is?

filtration includes a filstar xp3 and an aquaclear 110

as the oscar grows it would probably be too agressive with a severum. but thats my opinion have a look at what everybody else thinks...

Single oscars arent really that mean, my cousin has a 9'' oscar, and he doesnt hurt a fly. My pair, however, are the meanest things ever. But i could never get rid of them

I agree, The oscar alone should be fine, Its with other oscars that the show much more aggression.

If you get the severum now while the oscar is still small you'll increase the chances of it working - get the sev bigger though since they grow slower. It might work long term, it might not - with cichlids you never quite know.

i guess i won't risk it and just leave it alone with the loaches.

there's plenty to see in there already :)
thanks for your replies!
