Had an oscar from a prev owner for about 4 months now

Do questions about it get answered here or elsewhere?

If here then

How do i tell what sex the oscar is?

Its mainly green/brown with a touch of red and about 8" long

Oscars are a south american species so i have moved it to the appropriate forum for you, sorry but i know little of cichlids but im sure someone who does will be along soon.

oscars are a very hard species to sex. basically all that I have read is that there are two ways to sex them.... one is to vent them( unless you are a pro don't do it.)
and the second is to get a small pair and let them do their thing.

Unless you're wanting to get another to possibly breed, I don't really think what sex it is will matter.
Aren't both males and females, with Oscars, about the same temperment? I've never heard of there being a difference.
I have one thats about 8" now. I don't know for sure, but I assume mine is a male and I call him Big O.
