Oscar Help

Update: Well, I got the Pelco out.. but Oscar won't/can't close his mouth. :( And he seems to be having difficulty breathing.

There was a chance of that, give him some time, turn the lights out to keep the stress down, maybe it will close after a while, once the muscles in his mouth have had a chance to relax. If not and he is having difficulties eating, breathing etc, it may be best to euthanise, but give him time to settle down again.

Yeah turn the lights off, and it also might be wise to put a towel over the tank just so he feels nice and safe. Give it a couple of hours and see how he is :good:

I will do that. Thank you again.

Hopefully he will pull through.

bit late now but you should of used a damp cloth to place/hold the oscar with otherwise ou will have removed its slime coat.

Hello again -

I thought I would give you an update. Oscar pulled through! Yay! After about 12 hours I could see he was able to close his jaw a little, and in about 48 he was eating and behaving normally.

Thank you SO much for your help!

-Also, I see there is a forum for fish help now... So, sorry I miss posted! :flowers:

Fantastic news, glad he is happy and healthy again, probably gave him a scare though :)
