what is the best course of action anti bacterial meds ????

ps i was given the fish by a friend and he is in my hospital tank for now till he is well enought to go in one of my other tanks maybee with my 2 other oscars or with my jag

Ok.....

CataractsCataracts are fungal growths on the eyes. Treatment with any aquarium fungicide should work. Its probability increases with water rich in ammonia or nitrates.

Symptoms:White or gray material covering the eyes only.

Treatment:Special attention should be made to assure that ammonia and nitrite levels stay within accepted measures. Add anti fugal treatment. Raise the temperature and if fish are compatible with salt add it.
would this be fine its from one of the pinned threads if so then will an oscar be fine wiht the salt ????

What are your test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, what size tank, how many fish and which type, as cloudy eye can be due to poor water quality.

i know the causes of cloudy eye the fish i have was given to me today and is in my hospital tank there is nothing wrong with the water in my tanks

now the tank he was from the nitrates, ammonia ,phosphates,ph,nitrite,kh and dh were all of unacceptable levels thats why i have the fish myself i just dont like to use meds as much as i can i prefer to keep my water good at all time as we dont keep fish we keep the water that the fish just happen to live in

i was wondering as i dont know much about cloudy eye as i havent myself come across it in the 23 yrs i have been an aquarist all other illness yes (tb,hih, finrot, ich, ect). can i just treat it by doing water changes every 2 days using stress coat and conditioner (i also aireate my water for 1.5 days prior to any water change in any of my tanks

the couldy ness on the eyes seems to have gone away alot i was thinking if he had somehow hurt the oscars eyes when catching it could that happen by aggresive catching or poor netmanship ????
