My 9 year old son discovered that our young Oscar (6 inches or so) loves to eat strips of sashimi (those white and pink seafood sticks you can buy chilled in supermarkets).

Does anyone know if there's any reason why we shouldn't feed these to Oscar? he does seem to really like them, he jumps out of the water to take them from your hand.

not sure what that is but i feed mine shrimp/prawns/crab sticks/mussles etc, which they relish
:good: :good: as long as they have a good healthy staple diet<quality pellets

Thanks nelly, sashimi is the posh word for crab sticks. I'll keep giving them to him.

I think you mean surimi - sashimi is thin servings of raw fish, served in sushi restaurants.

No reason why you shouldn't feed it to your Oscar - it should be just pureed white fish, cooked.

Hi Craster, yes surimi, not sashimi!

thanks for the advice.
