Which sort do you think look more attractive and where online are best to purchase them? If you have images of yours you would suggest please add them x

hi emma, I am not sure whether you can class what I have as ornaments to be fair. I have a large tropical tank and wanted it to look marine style. I therefore bought tmc rock from maidenhead aquatics, it is ornate albeit offers the fish places to hide and dwelling areas, as well as serving the reason for getting them, to make the tank look marinish lol

I do not have pics yet although I have a video. This does not show all the plants as I put more in last night

8inary i love it!! It does look very marine like. What plants are in there? Are the pink one real or artificial?

what sort of thing you after, realistic or a bit more fun like shark jaws and thing like that? i like the more natural look myself?

hi emma, the plants are artificial unfortunatley!

i have tried real plants in there but they get ripped apart within the hour.

i get mine off ebay there are some good ones on there what have you got

the only problem with tank decor is that there are lots of what i call tat, meaning crap lol

you have to be careful not to go down that path as it somewhat negates your efforts, IMO of course lol albeit each to their own i guess

the plants i get are from maidenhead aquatics, they are rossas, can be a bit pricey, all of mine cost over £130 although i need to up date the vid as i put more in last night.

the only issue i have now, is that algae will get on the silk plants and ruin them, so i need to find a way to stop this, or end up replacing them all after say 3 months

Im after something more natural but maybe things like sunken ships or something as a centre piece/hideaway for the fish

Here is a link to a video of my fish tank. The plants at the back on the right are fake and so is the clump in the middle. I think they look pretty realistic compared to some i have seen. Also the two log things are fake.

If you're going for a natural look, you can there's usually some really nice bogwood out there. Can be a bit expensive, but well worth it :good:

Here's a few pics of what I've done. Tis nothing amazing, but its getting there.

I love the look of mopani wood, but be aware it will probably give your water a brown tinge.
I wouldn't normally recommend Pets-at-Home but I got my piece from there for £4.99.
Also regular airstones are much cheaper than "underwater rivers" etc that do pretty much the same job (my airstone was about £1.50).

But it really is a personal choice when it comes to decorating your tank.
Have fun with it

I to will be having a sunken ship for my tank.
Here is a pic of it.
