Hi all,
I've ordered a new filter for my fry tank from Amazon. I ordered a Interpet PF1 mini as my fry tank is only 26 litres.
It currently holds 3 guppy fry, 5 platy fry and my purple apple snail. There's my old heater in there and just a bubble stone as I didn't think it needed a filter (until I put the snail in there)
I changed the substrate yesterday as what it had was really rough and I didn't want it damageing my snail. Now the water is nice and cloudy so I'm guessing I've got a bacteria bloom - it's either that or it's coming from the courgette slice that I put in at bedtime last night.
Anyway, questions:
Can I just put the filter straight in and let it get on with it? I know fry have very little bio-load - not sure about the snail.
I have some old media somewhere so I could add that if anyone thinks it's needed.
Also, will the new filter deal with this cloudy water or is it best to get my syphon back out?
