Orange Sail Fin Molly Swollen Eyes

Hi

i came home from work today and had a look in the tank and said hello to my boys, i noticed i had 2 Orange Sail fin Molly's swimming around the surface. Thats unusual for them as they seem to be quite livelly normally.

Apon further looks 2 of them have swollen eyes, and look tatty? ( i know what i mean )

the other fish, a couple of angels, some platys seem to have a glint in there eyes( not all of them ), that im sure wasnt there before.

Being that it is 8.41pm im limited to what i have available to me, i have a test kit, and thats about it. Till i can get to the fish shop tomorrow.

Ive tried to take a picture but it hasnt come out very well but i can post it up if it would help.

Any ideas, starting to worry a bit.

How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What's the make of the test kit.

Anyn whitness to the eye.
Do the eyes look cloudy.
Any whiteness around the rim of the eye.
Are both eyes affected.


Bulging eyes can be bad water quality, bacterial, injury, parasites.

All you can do for now is add a bacterial med.
Make sure you have no sharp ornaments or plants in the tank.

Hi mate, its a 180 litre tank, with about a dozen fish in it, only the mollys seem affected. Ive done a test on the water as did the fish shop when i got there this morning. all was fine.
The eyes looked a bit cloudy and unfourtantly i have lost 3 of them overnight.
On the fish shop reccomendation i have bought a 5 day course of myxazin. Hopefully it will do the trick, he seemed to think it was 'pop eye'
