Hey everyone, I have a orange mollie that has recently developed a bunch of white spots on it. I have changed the bulb (florescent) in the past few weeks, could that be the cause? Or is this some illness?

Thanks!

Edit: I just did a Nitrite/Nitrate test on the tank before/after a partial water change.

Before:
Natrates: 20 ppm
Nitrites: 0 (no color change at all..)

After:
Nitrates: 10 ppm
Nitrites: 0 again

Does this help? Are the Nitrates too high?

Nitrates arent to bad (though am no expert) , though i would put my money on possible whitespot ,, can you post a picture of the fish ?

hi it matches its name its white spot your fish will be itching like mad ,we had same problem im going to give u a name of 2 items that are great works and well a bit on the dear side but works theres MELAFIX which is natural extracts of tea tree this repairs damaged fins ,ulcers , and open wounds ,and promotes regrowth of damaged tissue and fins this cost £15.00 for 137ml bottle and also theres PIMAFIX which is extracts of bay tree this treats fungal infections such as cottony growth ,fungus ,mouth and body fungus ie white spot too ,this cost £9.99 for a 118ml bottle but these 2 are the only 2 items u can put together ,do not add anything els to it like i said its pricey but realy good best stuff i used u can get it from any pet shop fish shop hope this helps ive had no problems since

gradually up your temp to 28-30 degrees, wait for white spots to fall off fish, then treat for a least a week with a whitespot med, i always used interpet no6 and its been great.
