I've started a new job at an awesome company called Criteo and their signature color is a beautiful orange. The office administrator gave me the okay to get a betta for my desk, so I'm looking for an orange betta to match the company colors. Anyone know a breeder in the US who has orange bettas? I could buy a fish internationally and have it shipped, but I'd rather not.

To be honest I don't know any breeder state side and I have been looking for a while lol and I think the chances of a orange are better when looking internationally anyways...

two orange females just sold on e-bay tonight from a UK seller. I've never come across an orange male though.

There are some orange females here, but the orange male has already been sold. The female is closer to the bottom of the list :good:
Also, maybe you could try looking here since I think there might be some USA breeders there?

Well, by some stroke of luck I found an orange half moon betta at a fish store in Mountain View. He's a very light orange color with some iridescent white... just gorgeous. I will try to post some pics soon. He wasn't cheap ($20), but at least I didn't have to pay shipping.

oooh photos...

Here is a pic I got this morning with my phone... the quality isn't too great, but he still looks gorgeous. <3

My beautiful orange betta!

He gets very upset when I turn the light on in his tank and flares at his reflection on all the walls. I'm hoping if I add a few plants maybe that will help distract him. I have a very expensive compact florescent light that I can put over the tank.

I've had very bad experiences with using filters in tanks with bettas who have long fins. My other betta Fred used to go crazy and bite his tail off, so I don't use a filter with him anymore. Any suggestions on how to filter the tank in a way that the water flow doesn't push them around so much?
