One of my black moors was being pushed around by 3 other orandas, I assume in an attempt to mate. The fish are under a year old. I removed her from the tank and put her in a solitary tank. My question is how long should I keep her out or if I should have removed her in the first place.

Hmmm...couple of questions...

How big is your tank? Maybe they are over crowded?
Are they all of similar size? I have a pair of goldfish when I was younger and the more outgoing one definitley harassed the more timid and slightly smaller one.

I have 3 redcaps and 3 black moors in a 100gal tank. One of the redcaps and one black moor are larger (about 4") The other 4 are only around 1.5" in body length and quite young as I mentioned. It's only the younger ones that were showing this behavior. Once I removed the black moor that was getting pushed around everything went back to normal.

Edit... I lowered the temp a couple of degrees and returned her to the main tank. everything seems ok so far.
