Hey everyone,

Now that I have decided what I want to do with my snails and frogs I'm starting to think about what I want to do for my betta in the new year.

If everything works out I would like to get a 20 gallon long tank, I would be continuing with keeping it fairly low tech with some led lights, heated to about 80C and using live plants and sand. Also my tap water is about 7.6ph.

Anyways, I was just curious what my options would be for tank mates for my betta in a tank of this size? I really like the look of Cory catfish and I also like ghost shrimp, but I don't know if theshrimp would be an option since my betta attacked my mystery snail when I had one.

Anyways, I'm not sure if this would be happening, but I was just wondering what my options would be.

Thanks!

I kept Kuhli Loaches with one of my Bettas. In a 20 gallon long, Kuhlies would be very happy! :)

I just looked them up, they are very beautiful! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep them in mind :)

You're welcome. I'm glad you like them too. :)
In a big group they are less shy, and ironically if you provide lots of hiding places for them you will see them a lot more.

if you have a half moon then I would avoid tetras of most kind. A lot of people will say that neons and danios etc... are okay but only if you like tattered betta tails. These little guys will nip the tails every chance they get. Although you are more then welcome to try it out for yourself but I just wanted to warn you. I've come to learn that most fish that are compatible with bettas are usually fish like corys and ottos etc... The only betta that I can fully say that can live in a community tank with no issues of fin nippings are Plakat bettas as the fins are way to short to nip and is not flowly and appealing to the tetra's eyes.
