What is the best number of (red) Honey Gouramis. There seems to be conflicting advice within posts:
1 male and 1 female (harassment?)
just 1 male/female (lonely?)
2 males?
1 male, 2 females (although this would be my least preferred option if I can have less than 3.)

i've learned that with gouramis, it's best to keep them by themselves unless of course you want to breed them. honey gouramis are pretty mild tempered but you know each fish is different. my two male gouramis fought all the time and it just wasn't worth it

1 male and 1 female (harassment?) - with honeys, this is only an issue in a small tank or one with few or no places for the female to hide

just 1 male/female (lonely?) - I think females at least do enjoy the company of their own kind but keeping a single one is fine

2 males? - not usualy a problem with honeys - again, there have to be hiding places and space for two seperate territories. Keeping top-dwellers to a minnimum helps.

1 male, 2 females (although this would be my least preferred option if I can have less than 3.) - my personal prefference

If you want 2, go for 2 females.
