Hello everyone,
I have recently gotten a 55 gallon tank. I have decided that I would like to try some real plants in it. I am a newbie.. I have been reading thru the pinned posts here and I think I have decided on these three plants:

Anacharis / Elodea

Vallisneria Spiralis

And if possible:

Wisteria - Hygrophila Difformis

I do not want a lot of real plants right now, as I am a newbie, but I would like to put in a few to help me learn how to care for them..

Do these plants sound like a good idea for me? I have 2 small goldfishes and am hoping to get an algae feeder as well.. (will be asking opinions on those as well soon.. ;0) )

Thanx so much for your help. I really appreciate it. I am kind of shy to take the opinions of the people at the "fish stores" as I have gotten a lot of bad info from them in the past few weeks...

They should all be OK for a beginner but vallis will be the hardest for you to get on with.

Vallis can be one of those plants that most get on with easily where a few really struggle. Maybe the water hardness.

Cabomba
Elodia
Crypts (After they regrow)
Ferns (tie to wood/rock)
Anubias (tie to rock)
Bacopa

All the above should be Ok for a nothing special (technology wise) tank and still look great.
