Hello, just wondering if anyone has used these replacements - are they as good as originals?
Just changed mine after a week - and i was amazed at how much crap the filter sponge had trapped - compared to my old fluval.
I've heard bad things about the standard juwel filters - but so far mines doing a top job.

The juwel internals are ok for lighter setups but if your keeping messier fish they are not so good. Only because when you take out the sponges it usually ends up putting crap back in the water but I use them on the community tank in my little boys room as they are briilint for that. As for those filter pads there a waste of money just use normal Poly wool you get a big box for llike £3 the each week just rip off a new piece and put it in same stuff just doesnt have a juwel lable on the box but does the same job and is a fraction of the price. Also the black carbon sponge is a waste of space aswell just replace it with another blue sponge and you will be fine. :good:

I have been looking at the eheim 2236 (sp?) external aswell when i went to my aquatic centre today (on sale at £80 at the mo) - may run this along side the internal once its a little more heavily stocked
Just need to see how much room they take up.

Thanks for the advice on the poly :good: I'll have a look about for it
