well i managed to get a 5.5 gal tank with a stand and filter with loads of filter pads, decore, lights, water safe, nitrIte test kit, and various other stuff for £40 new, apparenntly the whole thing is supposed to be £229, but i wouldnt pay that lol, any way it is a Vivo Aquarium and comes with 'adventure packs', which divide the tank into 4 sections giving the fish 'an obsticle course' as they say.
So would it be ok for a small group of females?
It will be heated and have hiding places too

Interesting idea for sure... totally unsuitable for goldfish (but my 1.5 gal betta tanks have photos on the box of the tank set up with three goldfish in it :shout: ) but it would make a good female tank IMO.
Isn't it so annoying that everybody still puts these tiny tanks out as goldfish kits?

It's like Rotastak for fish! Not my style, but it's a good price all in to be fair. I think i'd leave the divider/obstacle course things out so that all the fish have easy access to the surface

Woo! It's like an adventure playground for fishies LOL - very unusual but a good price considering all the stuff that came with it. Probably not the most natural-looking set-up but I bet this is going to be really popular with youngsters and a good way to get them interested in fish-keeping.

With all those dividers in there will it prevent you from putting in plants? You also mentioned keeping some female Bettas in there - well, it's a fairly small size tank so I wouldn't go too mad with numbers otherwise you'll end up overstocked and they'll be bumping into each other trying to fit through the tunnel and holes LOL

imo 5 gallons is not a gd idea for a group of females

ud only be able to get about 3, and its suggested to keep them as 4+

I would also leave out the 'obstacle course' junk. Bettas need to breath air to live. They need quick and easy acsess to the surface. Save the money from the rotastack stuff and use it on a nice plant or something :)

same as i was thinkig about the obsitcle course, as for the females, ideally it would only be a back up keeping them in there if they didn't get on with the endlers in the 15 Gal, i will be getting a male or two for my other 'spare' tanks :good:
