Put quite a lot in last night due to lack of concentration. It usually disapears over 24 hours but its still quite strong, but not as much. Still have nitrate and nitrite showing but not that strong.
Shall I leave it and see what its like in the morning or do I need to change a bit of water?

I wouldn't let it get above 5ppm...too much can hinder the cycle.

If it's under 8ppm and it's dropping, just put it down as an 'ooops!', and wait for it to drop to zero again, then add the proper amount and start doing your 12 hr tests again.

Yes, repeatedly getting your ammonia level to 8ppm or above will grow the wrong species of bacteria! You then have a very confusing and lengthy delay in your cycle.
