Did me Sunday water change and tidy up and came up with an idea. Now I know many members have already come across this problem but as you may know I'm new to all this.
Some of you will know about the problem I'm having with me red stemmed plants.
After I did the water change and cleaned the filters in the old water I noticed after putting the new water in and turning everything back on again that were some plant debris floating around.
Wanting to keep the tank tidy I went after them with me small net, now this net was the smallest the supplier stocks but I found it was too big for the job in hand.
The Guppies were swimming in and out of it and it was to big to go between the plants.
Not wanting to stress the Guppies to much I stopped and went surfing (on the net not in the tank)
To my surprise there isn't a net smaller than 2"X3" that doesn't cost £20 odd.
I'm thinking about a 1" to 1 1/2" diameter net on a stick just to tidy up the plant debris.
Has an members any suggestions?

Look into a brine shrimp net.

Or, make your own.  A small metal loop with a bit of nylon stocking over it should do the trick.

Been a while since I wore nylons.

You could ask a friend for an old pair.

Don't think he's wore them for a while either.

Would a tea strainer work?

I've got one in my fishy stuff, and it's very handy (mostly for catching Endler's that have jumped into the filter compartment, in my case

Even some cheese cloth should do the trick shaped into a net. You should be able to get cheese cloth (and many other types of net like material) from any fabric shop.
