Red scats are lovely fish. A single specimen might get a wee bit lonely, so consider getting either one or two more, or a couple of monos (with which scats mix perfectly).
People like scats because they tame easily and are incredibly greedy. Be careful about how much you feed it, and try to give it some veggie food (such as algae flakes and blanched lettuce) as well as regular fish food. They need both, especially if you want this fish in tip-top condition. They can be prone to things like lymphocystis and popeye, and getting the diet right is the first step to keeping it healthy. Scats eat all aquarium plants, including Java fern.
