one tiny guppy

hi
after rehoming my guppies- as you might recall-i found 5 tiny fry still in the tank after i got home. i put a hanging net box in one of my aquariums to save their little lives. 4 are getting bigger one looks almost the same as he was when i found him.
why is this? here’s a pic. i hope you can see the difference. the water is not yellow i used a colored bulb hopefully to make them stand out

Lots of possible reasons - water quality, genetics, competition (fry can be aggressive food hogs). You have a lot of pond snails, and I see that here when I am guilty of overfeeding (which is often with small groups of fry....).

hey thanks- i didn’t think of that. there are many snails in my shrimp tank. as you know the snails start out so tiny, i don’t see them until there are too many. ughhh
in shrimp tank i squish the tiny ones - i don’t like doing it but it seems less horrible than squishing a bigger snail.
