One Species Or Several Species?

I was wondering which is better. Having one fish species in ten gallon or have multiple fish species which have more chance passing disease to other kind of fish?

about the disease passing thing, in theory mulitple species would lengthen the time as a virus would have to mutate to jump from one species to another. well only in theory
