I'm still fairly new to the forum but basically one of my 6 neon tetras seems in some distress, The fish have been in there about a week and the others all seem fine *Touches wood*,
I first noticed it this afternoon, he can't seem to balance himself properly, at the moment he's basically swimming vertically toward the surface in quick bursts and basically going round in circles, I suspect maybe swim bladder? what are your thoughts?

how long did you cycle the tank? it could be ntd - i think you can tell if it is (i have read) if when the lightrs are off the neon is still swimming around

I think it might be the neon tetra disease. You should isolate it before it infects all the other neons.

Just to throw another thought in... I almost went off the deep end when I noticed 4 of my 8 doing the exact same thing this week... all ready to write them off after some research, but found one site which said that more commonly they will do that after eating a large amount, or something different, or while processing a meal or constipated. Just to give you a few more options.

Mine were still eating vigorously. Next day they were fine. All of them. Weirdest thing I've ever seen. I guess it was the food though - they were a little piggy that day!?

Good luck!

After being hogs and stealing all the bloodworms, my Harlequin Rasboras sometimes have a hard time swimming, but the next day they are fine.
