can i turn my internal power filter off at night or will this kill the filter bacteria. if so can anyone thinks of a way to reduce its current without affecting the tank too much? its a superfish 100 internal filter with spray bar attatched in a 20 litre tank. the tank is split in half and one half is split in half again. there's a male betta on the big part (1/2 of the tank) and a female in each small part (1/4 of the tank).

The filter needs to be on 24/7, position the spray bar so that it is fully submerged and aim it towards the glass

i've tried that but it just deflects down causing more problems for the male. it's really too big to go in another part of the tank. if there any way i could make a pipe go from it to the females side of the tank?

Get a long piece of tube (or hose, like a syphoner one but bigger)... put it over the spray bar and make new holes in the hose but less and then put more holes on the females side...

So basically your just extending the bar.
