Hiya,

Just wondering how long would a 2kg co2 bottle last at 3ish bubbles per second ?

Reason for asking is even though I have my options covered for refills I would like to know how long I have got before I have to make the leap and actually try and purchase a new bottle.

I will however be sensible and not wait till its empty Lol. Will start looking, buying once half empty.

Also, I cant seem to find on the gauge I have if it tells me how full the bottle is ?

Do they normally ?

Thank you for any help,

Joel

If your system has 2 guages, one will be the remaining CO2 in the tank. If you have only one guage, you can get a decent idea IF you know the full of CO2 weight, the empty weight and the current weight. The single guage will be pressure to the tank or needle valve as the case may be.
Cheers;

i can'e tell you..

it's depends on your use..

just see this time how long ur co2 will last. then you'll know..

also.. get a back up bottle will be good..

i've 3 KG cylinder and 400 G back up bottle..

Hard to tell, im running a 2kg fire extinguisher @ 2 bubbles per second for the last 6 months and the dial hasn't budged from the full position, I do run it with a solenoid though so its switched off at night, I would guess I will probably get another 6 months out of it at least, so a year in total, but its only a guess.

Thanks for the help ... appriciated.

I guess I can say 6months as a guess for now so to start looking for a back up in 3 / 4 months.

I do have two gauges but neither have moved Lol. I guess they will once it starts to empty a little.

I also have a solenoid which I plan to use at night to switch the gas off.

Thank you,

Joel

When I used to use a 2kg fire extinguisher it used to last a max of 4 months with 2 bubbles per second and only on for 12 hours a day using a solenoid. The gauge that measures tank pressure will only start to move down when the tank is virtually empty of CO2. I usually found once it started to go down the CO2 may last up to a week. The only real way to know how much CO2 is left is to weigh the bottle. It should have it's weight stamped onto it somewhere. It's then a simple subtraction to work out how much CO2 is left. Bit of a pain as you'd have to remove the regulator to weigh it.
