I went to petco to get meds for a parasite problem in 2 of my tanks. While I was there my omts (one more tank syndrome) kicked in. I ended up getting another 55g and 2 20g long tanks. The whole back end was full of tanks.
I just couldn't resist. They had them on sale for $1.00 per gallon. Now I need all the stuff for them. (and more fish) The first thing I have to do is find a place where they will fit so I can get them out of my car (suv). Then I have to go through my stuff to see what all I will be needing.
Do they make stands that hold 2 long 20g tanks (one above the other)?
The 55g will get another stand like the one I have so they will match.
I may look into building stands for them though. That might be fun.
So much to decide... :hyper:
I am so excited. I just wanted let you see what happens when you get omts... You end up throwing out perfectly good furnature just so you can fit more tanks... or riding around with so many that you can't fit the whole family in the car.

Hee! Hee! MTS strikes again!! Good bargain and hard to resist at $1.00 a gallon though, you'll have so much fun finding the right place for them and setting them up! Any ideas about what you're going to put in them oh and pics would be good at a later date when you've decided, maybe a tank journal, they're always interesting to follow!

They do make stands for 20 longs, however they say it's a 29gallon tank stand. 20 longs and 29 gallon tanks are the same length, so if you buy a stand for a 29gallon you should be good :)

hehe, thank god for MTS :D

I really have no idea what is going in them yet. I am still trying to decide. Give me some suggestions.

Have you seen any that lets you stack one 20 over the other? The only way I am going to have room is if I can stack them.
If you have... Where was it? I need to find one. I can't stand having empty tanks! It will drive me crazy until I get them up and something in them.

Thanks!

great find on your tanks, good luck finding stock and placement for them, cant wait for pics, i agree with loach - a log would be good

xXx

I already have 3 in planted tanks. Where would one go for a tank that isn't planted?
If I had one for each tank... That would be 10 of them to keep up with!(not counting the tiny tanks)
I think I may combine some of the similar ones.
I could have one for tanks that are agressive, and on for community... Then I could group however many fit that group. Would that work, or would each one need to be in their own section for the spacific type of fish? Where would a community tank go? My existing one is in planted tanks. If the new one isn't planted I have no idea where it should be. The only other section I remember is for tanks that have been running over a year. Maybe I need to look again.

What goes well with barbs? I want lots of color. It will be the 55g.

Thanks! :friends:

Foster and Smith have wrought iron stands that hold one above the other.
I have the 10g model and I love it! Take a peek and see if you like it :good:

Cool. I like them. I have never really looked at the stands though. I don't know why...
I will check them out.
Thanks! :good:

Congrats on the new tanks. :)

My gf and I just bought a 29 and a 40. :) The 29 is for a bunch of female bettas and tetras that she wants to get. :)

The 40 is for a pair of convict cichlids. :)

Now is a GREAT time to buy, if you want a 20 to 55 gallon tank. ;)

I think they are on sale at all the petco stores until the 8th. I would love to have more, but I am having trouble finding a way to fit what I have. I wish our house had another room or two!

I am thinking about having one 55g for community fish and the other 55g having african cichlids. Then I may put a divider in each of the 20g long tanks to house some of my corys that I want to breed later.
I have a 10g that I keep cory fry in.
I have a 10g that I keep my long fin albino pepper corys in.
My 4 year old has a 15g bow front that she has guppies in.
Then I have a 10g, a 1g, a 1/2g, and a glass betta bowl. These are currently empty. These are going to be for emergencies. (except the betta bowl. I have a betta in it. Oh... I almost forgot about the 29g. If you count the little ones, I have 12 tanks now. I will have 9 of them running all the time.
That is going to be hard to keep up with!  What have I done? Maybe I will put the 10g tanks up for emergencies and quaranteen. Then I can use the 20g tanks in their places. That would make it a little more reasonable. I will have to do some more thinking.
Any suggestions?

Thanks :good:
