Oh Dear God no!!!!!! :(

Just today I have noticed a change in one of my Female Guppys!! I have inserted a couple of photos, they arent great but there are more spots in real life than show in the photo.

She has been in the tank about a week and that was when the last fish were added. No other fish are showing any signs of anything wrong. Is it whitespot? and if so what should i do!?!?! Im pretty sure that when i got her she didnt have any spots or spot like markings. oh no. Its only on the two fins shown, not on her body (yet).

turn up your temp, it speeds up the white spot cycle. Treat with Protozin, since the cycle is sped up, Protozin or white spot remover kills the spores as they transfer srom fish to fish. It cannot be killed whilst on the fish.

I agree with julioarca, gradually turn the temp up to 29-30degree's C warm (doing it by a degree a day) and treat the tank with an anti whitespot med for 2-3weeks minimum.

Yeah it is whitespot, but its best to treat the tank completely with all of the fish in it, as left untreated or not properly treated the parasite can have a habitat of coming back and making fish sick etc.

When upping the temp, wait for the whitespots to fall of before treating, otherwise its pointless treating cos it wont affect it.

Do its defo whitespot and i should raise the temp to about 29 degrees? that wont harm the fish? wait for the white spot to fall?? then treat with med for a few weeks?

Usually i do a 50% water change, then temp raise to 28C, then wait for spots to fall off, then treat for 1 week, if still present then do a 50% waterchange and treat again.

If after the first week all seems clear, do a 30-40% waterchange and carry on as normal :)

defo whitespot, get the temp turned up to arroun 30c and treat with meds. lets hope it dosent hit every fish the the tank
