What stats did you test the tank for exactly and what results did you get back exactly?

How are the other fish in the tank- any odd behavior? What have you been feeding the fish and have you used anything like salt in the tank at all? Have you used anything like cleaning chemicals or sprays near the tank etc recently?

Might be worth adding an airstone if its breathing quickly.
Has your PH or anything like that suddenly dropped or spiked ?

How old is the plec.

Tested for ammonia nititre both 0, Nitrate is 10-20.

All other fish are fine. No sign of disease. PH stable at 6.6

Not sure how old he is as i got him from someone else. Nothing has been added to tank or sprayed near tank.

Just mystified as to what could be wrong with him?

Any ideas?

Quick update. Have done a massive water change and he is now back on his belly and at the front of the tank.

Put some bloodworm in the tank which he never went for. Put a Pleco wafer in and basically lifted him and sat him ontop of it { he feels really prickly}. He seems to be having a little nibble at it

Fingers crossed he gonna be ok.

check his belly for redness and any inflamed areas. I had a Leopard Frog Plec go the same way, wasnt until i lifted him out i saw the area. Worth a check.

Sorry bless him he didn't sound good.
I had plecs that went that way too.
It was to late even with treatment.
