Ohh my gosh! What do I do? there little white eggs on a leaf. Does this mean they have not been fertilized?? She is pretty protective and they are both staying by the plant. She is doing it as we speak. Laying them! Im so scared can someone please walk me through this!

I got some pictures of the eggs, I will get them up, as we speak she has that little buble like thing on the leaf and shes moving up and down it! I'm so excited!

I'm very confused, the mael was attacking the female, then the female started attacking the male becuase he ate on of the eggs that had fallen to a lower branch. She chased him all around the tank, and now hes hiding from her underneath the plant. What should I do? Are they fertilized? Have the angels even paired up if shes being agressive to my male?

Sorry, forgot link, here it is Eggs

Please someone help, the female is droping them out of her, but the male will come along out of his hiding spot, she will tilt her head upwards towards him and she usually moves before he can hit her or anything, after shell go to the other side of the tank and see if he comes out from underneath the plant. He has came out and she chased him around because he got close and ate a big section of the eggs. Still no abarent sign of a breeding tube for the male.

By the way I read Tolaks post but im still a little confused, I have acsess to a large number of tanks, my pet sotre will take the baybies. But do you think they have paired already but the male just insn't ready to start reproduction?

Update: She has been faning the eggs, but still no fertilization by the male. When she was fanning one of the eggs fell off the leaf, the male went for it but since she was closer she ate the egg and then kind of shook her head like she did something bad.

UPDATE:

I was watching and she ate an egg, then the male came up and tried to eat one but she peeked his nose, and then chased him around the tank and back into his hiding spot.

Typical new parents. Give them a little more practice, they'll get the hang of it. They should spawn every 7 to 14 days, so don't worry about this spawn. I never pull the first spawn from new parents, there is a poor hach percentage. Remember the pattern she is laying the eggs down now, it's probably pretty haphazard. After a few spawns you will see nice neat rows.

If they aren't in a tank by themselves it's best to have them in one. They feel less stressed that way, and are less likely to eat the eggs. The most I keep in a pair tank besides the angels is a few corys & a small bristlenose.

Thats good, all I got in the tank are a few cories. I'm just worried about the male angel and the females agression towards him.

Pairs will squabble sometimes. I've sold pairs that would only get along while actively spawning, I don't want to breed fish with aggression issues. Another pair would lip lock every morning when I turned on the light. Keeping a divider handy is a good idea.

Okay i'm just making sure it isn't to agressive, it looks like some skin has been ripped off the male. She goes at him and they get quite quick just going around the tank, usally about three times around then she leaves him alone. This hasn't happend after that last update, so im hopeing they just avoid eachother for a bit.

congratulations. and they say fishkeeping is relaxing, its not when your fish are spawning, especially the first few times.
wait until she decides to move them, and then they become wrigglers, and then they become freeswimming, and then,...
and then,..... and then,.....i know how you are feeling. good luck!

Thanks thegnu! Do you think feeding them would help to get them back to normal? They are not agressive when it's feeding time. Will it help if hes coaxed into the open using food?

Lol, thats the end of that. The male ate all the eggs and all the female did was watch. Maybe next time will be better and i'll be more prepared! I will make a little 2 gallon with a brine shrimp hatchery and a spondge filter or undergravel filter. After they hatched i'll transport them to the pet shop!

not to be too upset, most cichlids will spawn again once they have made that bond, not sure about angels, but i think they will and will get the hang of it. it must be very stressful for them and many cichlids if too stressed will eat their own eggs or fry to relieve the stress.
