Omg, I can't belive some people

 I didn't even notice the work 'lookin'.

here is the persons reply

ok, firstly the tank was cycled before I introduced them, for a week at least. And I am not sure if my tank is exactly a 5gallon one or not. I'm in Australia we dont' deal in gallons.. It takes me 12 litres to fill it so it isnt' exactly a small tank. I have kept up to 5 gold fish in a simular sized tank previously and none of them died. I have a filter for the tank also which i can see has some of that good bacterial/alge I've read about in it so i know it's working. These 3 remaining fish seem in great health. I think perhaps the ones I bought that died were in poor health when I purchased them as they died within 24 hours of being introduced to a new tank. If my last remaining red cap dies I will not be buying anymore of that breed, but stinking with more hardy ones like fan tails or comets.

Thamks for your comment anyway.

I just went to take a picture of the tank to post here and found one of the black moors dead and the other has what looks like white fur on it. I've hear of this somewhere. What should i do?

hey now it was cycled for at least a week, probably empty with no NH3 source but hey what are you going to do.

Also "nazi" should be "Nazi"

What a twit.... I know we have to start somewhere but that?... either he was stupid or the eeevil LPS told him that was OK... Hopefully I'm going to one tomorrow so I can check on stuff they tell you. Personally i think thay should ban the sale of thos 5 gallon goldfish tanks. I got one for Xmas, my mum wants me to get a goldie but she won't believe it'll kill it... Oh, she says, they're only £1.50, you can get another one. Umm... thats beside the point, m'dear.

If anyone can think of any reason why these fish might keep dying please enlighten me...
Stupidity can be fatal to one's pets, I'm afraid. I would call it ignorance, but considering how this person replied to good advice, it's willful ignorance -- which translates to pure stupidity :p

what people need is for the clerk/person working at the store to tell them what they have to do. havent you ever heard someone say to their child"Shhh the man knows what he is doing" well i sure have and at LPS's theyre 100% wrong. they just need someone who knows what theyre doing so they could explain to the person why they can keep goldfish in bowl with plants in and let the goldfish feed off the plants.

my $0.02

Actually talking from experience of working at a local petstore in the fish section for 1 and a 1/2 years even the clerks that do try to help people out get slammed and usually receive nasty comments.

Example:

Once I was helping a young girl pick out a Black moor and while doing so I overheard some people talking about their Betta.

They had one of those "Bettas in a Vase" things and once finishing with the girl, they were next. They asked if they could see the female Bettas cause their guy was lonely -_-

First off, I told them that Bettas in a Vase was wrong... Too little space, etc.
They ignored me.

Then I made a point of saying that well you need to clean out the water every so often and actually feed it. I even waved some Betta bites in one of the person's faces to try and get the point across... nothing happened [got a pretty blank look like the guy was out of it].

Anyways, they basically told me it was their money and that it was nothing of my concern so basically bug off. I decided, "fine waste your money" because the store had a horrible return policy [30 hours and then no refund]. They came back two days later with both Bettas dead and the vase demanding their money back... hope that turned them off fish.

Feel very sorry for the Bettas though. :-(

oh my that is a horrible story. the tank is actually only 3.17 US gallons and not even five, though both are bad.
I wish people would research for their pets sake. The only hope is that maybe they will all be reincarnated as goldfish. :D
