i was feeding my fish this morning and i noticed my tetra was a little pale. then when he turned i saw patches of red then when i looked closer i saw that part of my tetras face was eaten off! still dont have a water test kit (im getting one soon) so i dont know all that stuff, but here are tank mates:

5 red minor tetras
5 harliquin rasboras
2 mollies
7 platys and mickeymoons
1 golden algea eater

someone please help me. my tetra is slowly dying! HALF OF HIS HAFE IS EATED OF FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

I'm not all that sure that there's a lot you can do tbh. Lots of water changes to keep the water clean and hope it heals up.

You need to find out who the culprit is; I'd guess at the algae eater, which do get very aggressive as they get older, or one of the other tetras, red minors (I've never heard them called that before!) are well known for being nippy.

It could be mouth rot too. If it is too far along it may be best to euthanize this fish and watch the others carefully. Sorry.

Try your best, once you have a photo up I'm sure one of our experts will be able to identify the problem. :)
