Been watching my 3 oldest vts. The sit mostly on the floor, well 2 who havent the sense to sit closer to top! I feel really sorry for them with their long fins they almost seem too heavy for them now they are older. They are still having a little flare every day at neighbours but they seem as if they cant be bothered. I have one in a shallow plastic container as he gets sb and he seems much happier not having so far to go to surface. I dont really want to put the others in containers they dont look nice.

Where do people get cheap silk plants from? If I put more of those in they might have the sense to stay closer to the top. They were all asleep a minute ago and came rushing to front to see me

My local Maidenhead aquatics were selling packs of 4 with 2 small and 2 huge ones for £7.99 instead of £10.99. Bargain I thought. They have loads of shops around so there may be one near you.

Your LPS should have small silk plants....I'm not sure if Northampton is in the US or the UK, but Petco/Petsmart in the US sells good sized silk plants for $3-4.....

Dont put fake plants with Betta's. Their fins are far to easily torn. If you want plants get some hardy large leafed live plants.

Silk plants should be fine. If you can drag a ladies stocking over it without snagging it will be ok for the bettas fins. The type you buy for flower arranging though often has plastic bits and the type of dye used probably would leach into the water, so not such a good idea. :good:

Any plants are fine- I've yet to see any of mine tear any fins on any plant, whether silk, real or plastic.
