Old Roof Slate?

Is it safe to use old roof slate in a tank? aslong as its washed thoroughly etc?

As long as they have no metallic veins in them, or old cement stuck to them, then yes, they're safe.

Thanks. Although i said old they are technically new just been sat in my dads storage area at work for ages left over from a job so just a bit grubby.
