How do you guys go about keeping your old bettas happy and comfortable?

I find they like warm water, nice and clean. I also lower the level and give them nice comfy plants to rest their butts on. I like to keep bottom of tank bare so I can see if they use the bathroom

My old guy likes being next to other males. Also he loves warm water with tons of plants in his tank.
