So I was actually able to get a 10 gallon so I have 3 neon tetras (one recently died), a Cory Cat, an Alibno Cory, and two Sunset Platties.
Well, I had introduced all the fish to their new home but I had a problem.
My Betta started chasing the Platties around.

And everyone knows, Platties are one of the most loveable fishes ever.

Well I guess my Platties are a little different because my Plattie took a big chunk out of my Betta's fin!!
So I had to move her back to the 2.5 gallon.
Now that really surprised me.

Oh and my sister has 2 Mickey Mouse Platties in her small tank but we want to move them.
The problem is they are developing Ick on their tails.. how do you get rid of Ick? Do you have to turn off the filter when you add the menicine?

A large majority of fish will pick on betta's because betta's fins and tails have been bred to be so unnaturally long that it makes many varieties of betta's very slow and un-agile, making them easy targets for most fish to pick on, its one of the numerous reasons why male betta's do not make good community fish in general- platies are generally peaceful fish by nature, by like almost any other fish, if they see a fish which cannot defend itself well, they may choose to pick on it.

Can you describe the exact appearance of the ick like the size of the white spots etc :) ? You shouldn't turn off the filter during the ick treatment, however if the filter has a carbon sponge in it you should remove it (as carbon sponges remove meds from the water), however we first need to be certain that what your platies are suffering from is for sure Ich/Ick/Whitespot  .
