okay now I am worried

like I said now I am worried. I just not a minute ago my JD digging in the sand with his HEAD!!!!! I have seen him a million times use his tail but never do a nose dive flip onto his back and basiclly flop around to dig. is there something wrong that I need to know about?

I've had a cichlid or two of mine do that before. Loooong time ago tho. They only did it a couple times tho if I remember right and they seemed ok and never had any problems.

Keep an eye out for scrapes and use melafix if they get any.

I'd be a little worried that he's got a parasite or something thats causing irritation...
Fish dont generally whack themselves off things for no reason, even if they are a digging kind of fish like yours, they usually use their mouth or tails. Also check your ph!
Other than that, maybe he's just bored!

well I am not too worried about it being parasites as that he onnly did it once. I just thought something might be wrong... but now I am sure that he just felt like taking a header in the sand.
