juwel vision 260 ( used before for other fishes but all cleaned and sorted out )

The standard juwel filter box and a fluval 4 at the other end of the tank pushing the current round the same way ( i guessed thts what it would be like in the wild correct me if im wrong)

200 watt heater (will set tank to 28 degrees)

Juwel structered background ( the black one i figured the yellow labs wud stand out more on this than the root backgrounds )

Will be crushed coral substrate and either holy rock or spagheti rock!

I am going to leave the tank running 2 - 3 weeks and check the PH and KH levels etc and then introduce a small group of cichlids ( any ideas what i could get to maek sure the tank is okay? )

Thanks for all the help all suggestions and help welcome ( actually deffinetly NEEDED!! )

Cheers luke

Will need to be cycled to start the nitrogen cycle. Either with hardy fish (not neccesarily reccomended) or chemically.

Check the pinned posts on the Beginners section.

How big is your tank (volume?) I think your heater may be too big - if there is such a thing,

its a vision 260 so i think its 260 ( mayb gallons but dont think so ) okay yeah hardy fish be best i think which ones should i get??

The heater is the one that came with the tank and i duno if heaters can be two big as you set them to what you want dont you :|

Its 260apprx litres. The 200w heater is ok for it.I have a 300 in my rio 300.

A lot of people use Mollies to Cycle saltwater tanks, so I don't see why they wouldn't work for freshwater. When I started my last tank I bought 6 tiger barbs to start and they did really well. Now I have Cichlids in the tank and every one seems to be doing fine. I'm not sure what the 260 is? Do you have a link?
