Down a dark hole... Down a dark hole... with an ow
HI there,

My G/F has some flowers (not bought by myself i may add ;) ) and there are little larvae in the bottom
They act the same as daphnia but look like tiny little worms/insect nymphs twitching in the water.....

Im a bit sceptical about giving it to my fish? As i dont know how they got there?

But if its say, hmmm, mosquito larvae (a similar post in this section got me thinking on this), does that mean i could have them breeding in my tank...

I LOATH MOSQUITO'S!!! I am allergic to there bite....... so any i find i will give to my gouramis - my Pictus especially.....

Does anyone have a similar experience - Weird things in flower vases

I'd say don't give them to the fish, however tasty they look.

It's a good bet that the flowers have been sprayed with all sorts of pesticides & fertilisers and you don't want that crap getting into your tank.

P.T.
I meant fungicides, and aphicides... and mozzies are notorious for breeding resistance to insecticides.
