My 2 new "blue acara" are starting to venture round the tank a little today, however I am getting my self really wound up now thinking they are not blue acara but green terrors? They still wont come out with me by the tank to get a picture, but both have orange tops to their dorsal fins and orange in their tails. I have been googling pics of both fish and some pics I think oh yes they are BA's then the next pic they look like a GT, I have tried looking at the lines under their eyes and its confusing me even more.

So I am after pics of gt's and ba's because I think I have looked at them all on the net  thanks

Edit: Or do they look different because they are wild caught?

This was my GT at 6":

BA's will not have the orange edging to their tail fins.

here are my blue acara they also have orange at the tips of the fins

these are aequidens latifrons not pulcher this maybe why the fins look different

as mentioned latifrons are the ones with orange/yellow fin edges.

i also think the vertical black bands dont show in green terrors? and that the scale pattern is different (though that may only be obvious in mature specimens?)

no idea how much wild caught differ from standard lfs ones but

Thanks guys, I am going to have to try to get a pic and you will see what I mean the male looks like both!! although I am starting to believe he is a GT and the female is BA. The male has no black line though his eye which makes me suspect he is the GT although the chap I got them from bought them as acara?

Ok got some pics, really annoyed fishes by removing everything from the tank, sorry they are not great there is no zoom or anything on the camera.

Couldnt get his tail which is orangy colour.

If he is a gt break it to me gently because I will cry!

 Thank you I have been going out of my mind, I had convinced myself he was a GT.

Skips round the kitchen (carefully so's not to bump into tanks)

THANKS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

His markings actually show up better in the pictures than in the tank I think thats why I was going so stir crazy convincing myself he was a GT. I do feel a bit silly now lol
