Is it possible to understock your tank? If it is, is it bad for the fish? I was thinking about this the other day, and it got me kind of worried...

Oops, i mispelled the title. I meant "Stupid"

Not possible. Lots of people start large tanks with a single fish that will grow to suite the tank. Bacteria grows as the fish grows.

Agree, not possible in the sense of water chem etc. being bad, but perhaps a possible problem if the few fish in a tank were shoaling fish and not stocked in at least the minimal number needed to put them at ease.

Or with mbuna understocking a tank can lead to a lot of aggression as they are overstocked to avoid fights. :good:
