Well I've made a tentative start on my (ever so small) planted aquaria.

Picture580.jpg

Its concept is two fold. One to have a nicely planted aquarium with about 4-5 plant species
I was quite taken with Aarons original planting scheme and have decided to almost mirror image that.
I wont win any prizes or originality but I saw something I liked and I felt the need to replicate that to some degree.
and secondly it has to be a natural breeding ground for Pseudepiplatys annulatus and perhaps a sml group of Corydoras habrosus.
It will take some time to complete as its being set-up in conjunction with another aquatic project.

Looking promising. How many gallons is that?

I have to say, aquascaping is a personal thing in my eyes, doesnt matter about prizes as long as you're happy with it

Hi Geoff.
Its one of the little Boyu MR398 tanks.
7 gallon/28L capacity Small tank, small fish, small plants lol
Just got my Proflora CO2 cannisters back today (500gms) £6 each to refil
Better than having to send them to the mainland whereby the postage is a killer

Oh right, i love nano journals

£6 isn't bad, im currently using a fire extinguisher setup, not sure how much it will cost to refill.

Whats you're lighting going to be? I assume you know about the minimum light threshold?

Awesome bit of wood, where did you get it?
Our LFS gets this stuff in all the time there were loads to choose from as well as rocks and bogwood.

There's a little light in the hood built in which is adequate as I don't want to get too heavily into this for the moment (low lighting planting) as it isn't the number one priority
its part of this

Nope I got them done for me by a friend who uses a guy on the Glen Road Belfast. (welders merchants or similar) He mumbled a bit as he's not supposed to refil them as they need to be checked by law, he did them this time but said that he cant do them again. But he offered me an alternative a full 2kg bottle or slightly larger for forty quid. and it costs about £12 a refil of that. So thats what I'll be doing when these run out
I'll get the details for you.
