Hi i have had my 4 guppies for quite a while and the 3 females are pregnant. They have been doing great nothing wrong at all but then all of a sudden things changed, now everytime i go near the tank, no matter how slow i go towards it even if i crawl, Midnight my black delta female freaks out big time and shoots around the tank for a couple of mins then stops and breathes heavily. I need help as i don't have any medication for incase it's a parasite or something and i don't know when i will be able to get some.
Hopefully she will survive. It scares me to watch her dart around the tank like shes been shocked. I'm only 13 and have never had any problems with fish except 1 molly with fungi on his eye, but that cleared up thanks to myxazin by waterlife.

she might be close to dropping. they get skittish at that time, hiding etc., her rapid breathing is likely from her quick burst of exertion (how a runner breaths heavily-if you get my idea). likely nothing to worry about at all.
cheers

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I know her breathing could be from her burst of speed but, i was just a little worried because i have heard of fish being like this when they have a certain parasite as it has some kind of mild mind control or something. Can't remeber what it's called but it's supposed to alter the nerves or something and the fish reactes and doesn't really know what it's doing.

are the males pestering her? could also be why she's "jumpy". have you seen her poo? what does it look like? is she heavily pregnant? have you seen her or any other fish in the tank flicking/rubbing on things in the tank? is she or any other fish particularly skinny?
just a few questions. most likely absolutely nothing to worry about. definitely dont add any medication to the tank!
cheers

are the males pestering her? there is only 1 male and he does but then he moves to the other ones. could also be why she's "jumpy".

have you seen her poo? yes.

what does it look like?
It looks normal. A healthy brown.

is she heavily pregnant? Yes along with 2 others.

have you seen her or any other fish in the tank flicking/rubbing on things in the tank? Nope.

is she or any other fish particularly skinny? no way shes fat and so are the other 2 females. The only 1 who hasn't put on weight is the male.

just a few questions. most likely absolutely nothing to worry about. definitely dont add any medication to the tank! wasn't going to.
cheers

Thanks.
